CLIFTON REGAIN PROMOTION INTO THE INDOOR PREMIER LEAGUE - This year the competition is taking place at UWE, Bristol - 10/11th Dec 2011 & 7/8th Jan 2012

SEASON 08/09: The Womens Indoor Premier Division matches were played at Whitgift School, Croydon. Clifton had an excellent first weekend, winning two matches and drawing the other two games. The second weekend proved to be a tougher challenge. Clifton lost out by one goal in the first game, and although Clifton played with good intensity and played some solid indoor hockey the remaining three teams (who finished in 1st, 2nd and 3rd place) showed their class defeating Clifton comfortably. Clifton finished the league in 7th position, maintaining their place in the Premier division for the 09/10 season.

SEASON 09/10: The first weekend was played at Fleming Park, Eastleigh, with the second weekend re-arranged due to the snow and played at Whitgift School, Croydon. Clifton did not start as brightly as they would have hoped losing their first game and points they really should have secured. Clifton played some quality indoor hockey during the second weekend but were unable to gain enough points to remain safe. Clifton won two and lost six matches, finishing 8th in the league and being relegated into the Womens Division One League for the 10/11 season.

Season 10/11: This year's Womens Division One was played at Lilleshall, and Clifton had only one thing on their mind - to regain promotion into the Premier league! Clifton had mixed results on the first weekend with two wins, one loss and one draw leaving them lying in 3rd place going into the second weekend. Regardless of any other results in the tournament Clifton were faced with having to win all 4 games for promotion. Clifton stepped up to the mark, and put in some outstanding indoor performances giving them much confidence going into the last game. The final match of the weekend saw Clifton face Olton with both teams needing the win to regain promotion. Clifton went 2-0 down with a lot to do in the second half. The team came out strong and after much patience found their way into the match ending with some great looking hockey and winning 6-3. An excellent campaign sees Clifton back in the Indoor Premier league next season.
