Clifton then began a dominant passage of play which resulted in a short corner which was scored by Jess Ecott’s in the 43rd minute. Loughborough Students got a consolation goal in the 68th minute. An excellent result for Clifton Ladies HC. Well done to all involved.

Clifton 2nd team beat Reading 2s 6-0 in the semi finals, progressing into the Final versus Loughborough Students on Sunday 22nd April. This match will be taking place at Cannock Hockey Club, along with numerous other finals. Another important fixture which requires our support is the Robinsons Mens over 40s team who have also reached their respective final and will be facing Reading mens over 40s on the same day. Any support welcome.
Clifton 1st team cup run came to an end. Clifton travelled to Surbiton for the semi-final on 25th March and were disappointed with their 1-0 loss. Clifton had much of the play, but unfortunately could not break through a packed defense and were caught on the break.
CLHC wish Clifton Ladies 2s and Robinsons Mens over 40s the best of luck in their finals.

CLHC 1st team finish the season in 4th place, the clubs best finish in years! This position also means that the team advance to the Championship Play-Off Tournament with an overall goal, if victorious, of qualifying for a place in Europe.
Saturday 31st March at Coombe Dingle, start time 1pm, Clifton 1s will face the 5th placed team in the league Bowden Hightown in the first of the play-off matches. Clifton will want to be setting the score right having lost 2-0 at home earlier in the season. The winner of this match will then face Reading on Sunday 1st April - the winner of this match facing either Leicester or Canterbury in an overall championship final on 15th April.
Good luck CLHC 1s.
